Fantasy Football Week 2

Sunday’s games including Patriots @ Dolphins, Cardinals @ Ravens and Cowboys @ Redskins were all “in the bag” wins in my book. After week 1’s display of athleticism by Brady, Prescott and Jackson, there was no way they would be beat offensively unless otherwise challenged.

Masterblog’s fantasy football team is as follows:

  • QB Dak Prescott (Cowboys) 27.66
  • RB Todd Gurley (Rams) 15.70
  • RB Austin Ekeler (Chargers) 23.30
  • WR Julian Edelman (Patriots) 9.20
  • WR Tyler Boyd (Bengals) 22.20
  • TE Darren Waller (Raiders) 12.30
  • WR Emmanuel Sanders (Broncos) 28.80
  • K Mason Crosby (Packers) 3.00
  • DEF (Kansas City) 11.00

Big point scoring positions include, quarter backs, running backs and wide receivers. Potential quarter backs to replace Dak Prescott include Tom Brady, Lamar Jackson and Patrick Mahomes. The key is using players who are versatile and quick on their feet. Athletic players who have played multiple positions in their football career are more likely to score fantasy points. In week 2, two big quarter backs were injured and may undergo surgery as a result; New Orleans Drew Brees (thumb injury) and Pittsburghs’ Ben Roethlisberger (elbow injury). This proves the importance of having a secondary quarter back to trade places with both in fantasy football and in the NFL.

In week 2, running backs who scored big were:

  • New York Giants – Saquon Barkley 22.50
  • Dallas Cowboys – Ezekiel Elliot 20.00
  • Minnesota Vikings – Dalvin Cook 28.10
  • Green Bay Packers – Aaron Jones 25.00

In week 2, wide receivers who scored big were:

  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Chris Godwin 26.10
  • Atlanta Falcons – Julio Jones 27.60
  • Atlanta Falcons – Calvin Ridley 24.50
  • Detroit Lions – Kenny Golladay 25.70

It’s important to not only have back up quarter backs, but other backup positions, so the complete fantasy teams can be reorganized depending on their next opponent.

Notable games for week 3 include:

  • Ravens @ Chiefs 1PM
  • Falcons @ Colts 1PM
  • Texans @ Chargers 4:25PM
  • Saints @ Seahawks 4:25 PM
